Higher coercivity: special formula (e.g. adding rare earth elements such as cobalt, dysprosium, terbium, etc.) is used to enhance magnetic stability, which is not easy to demagnetize under high temperature environment.
High energy density: still maintains a high magnetic energy product (BHmax), suitable for applications requiring high magnetic field strength.
Technical principles for realizing high temperature performance of NdFeB:
1. Addition of heavy rare earth elements (Dy, Tb)
2. By coating the magnet surface with compounds containing Dy, Tb and diffusing them to the grain boundaries at a certain temperature, the effect of increasing the coercivity at low cost without significantly reducing the remanent magnetization (Br) is achieved.
3. Refine the Nd₂Fe₁₄B main-phase grains and improve the high-temperature stability of the magnets by using processes such as rapid solidification, aerosolized powder, and hot isostatic pressing (HIP).
4. Construct a dual-phase structure of Nd-rich and Fe-rich phases in the magnet to enhance the antimagnetization capability at high temperatures through the synergistic effect between the phases.
How to choose high temperature neodymium magnets?
Determine determine the required temperature resistance level, such as 150°C, 180°C or 200°C or more.
Requirements for magnetic performance, such as the recent release of BYD's super 30,000 rpm drive motor selected N50EH grade.
High temperature environment is easy to oxidize, it is recommended to choose nickel plating + epoxy or Parylene coating.
